I am happy to announce that S2C experienced very strong growth in 2010. 2011 is shaping up to be another record year. I am very pleased with the number of repeat customers like Actions Semiconductor that we are seeing. This validates that we are continuing to deliver value to our customers.

We are focused on growing our rapid FPGA prototyping infrastructure but adding Prototype Ready™ accessories, IP and platforms. This newsletter discusses 7 new Prototype Ready accessories.

S2C is growing to better support our customers. We have opened a new office in HsinChu, Taiwan and have named Ashok Kulkarni, a very senior applications manager to head our North American applications engineering team.

Our philosophy, since our founding in 2003, has been to work closely with our customers to deliver the very best technology that the market needs. We are on our 4th generation of technology. Actions Adopts S2C’s 4th Generation Rapid SoC/ASIC Prototyping System

Actions Semiconductor has been successfully using S2C’s rapid SoC/ASIC prototyping system since 2009. Based on this success, after a careful and thorough evaluation, Actions decided to proliferate its use of S2C’s products to accelerate their design process by placing a major order for the dual Stratix IV 820E based S4 TAI Logic Modules and TAI Player Pro software.

"We have adopted S2C’s rapid SoC prototyping solutions, including Xilinx FPGA based V5 TAI logic module hardware and TAI Player Pro software in our design flow for a long time. We are impressed by the reliability, extendibility of the V5 hardware and the powerful, and user friendly TAI player software. S2C Released 7 New Pre-Engineered Prototype Ready™ Accessories for Rapid SoC Prototyping

7 new Prototype Ready accessories added to S2C’s growing library of pre-engineered hardware and software components aimed at speeding the development of SoC prototypes. These modules work with S2C’s TAI LM family of rapid SoC prototyping tools.

The newly released Prototype Ready accessory modules include USB2.0 PHY Interface Module, PCI Interface Module, 2-Channel PCI Master Interface Module, SPI Flash Memory Module, 2-Channel 256MB DDR2 on SO-DIMM Memory Module, 2GB DDR2 Pre-tested SO-DIMM Memory Module, 2GB DDR3 Pre-tested SO-DIMM Memory Module

These pre-engineered solutions enable the user to focus on the SoC prototype development rather than have to re-engineer solutions that have been engineered and documented by S2C. "The new Prototype Ready accessories work out-of-box with the S2C's TAI Logic Module series. When building SoC prototypes on FPGA, designers simply choose the TAI Logic Modules that fit their design capacity requirements and then select the interface modules from our Prototype Ready library that fit their application.” said Mon-Ren Chene, Chairman and CTO of S2C.

S2C Opened a Direct Office in Taiwan

S2C has opened a direct office in HsinChu, Taiwan. The office is located near the HsinChu Science Park and will provide direct sales, superior technical support and local hardware maintenance to S2C customers in Taiwan.

“Taiwan has been a major market for S2C since 2005. Our rapidly expanding business there has grown to a point that we can invest in a direct office to better service our customers locally. SoC prototyping is becoming a critical step in today’s hardware design and SoC software development. Having reliable SoC prototyping hardware is a requisite. This office not only will provide enhanced level of technical support but will also provide a local hardware maintenance capability to ensure our customers have almost zero down-time. Ashok Kulkarni Joined S2C as Director of North American Applications Engineering

Ashok Kulkarni has joined the company as Director of North American Applications Engineering. Ashok is a design verification, emulation and prototyping expert with over 20 years of experience in these fields. He has held various positions in ASIC/FPGA design, applications support, ASIC consulting, and sales and technical marketing.

S2C is strengthening its US operations to better support North American customers. Mon-Ren Chene, S2C’s Chairman and CTO said, “We welcome Ashok to the S2C team. His depth of knowledge and experience will help us to contribute to our customers’ success. We are making a serious investment in our US operations by adding senior staff of the caliber of Ashok.”
