S2C Partners Japan Circuit Co-Developing Next Generation Ultra High-Performance SoC Prototyping Solution Aug 06, 2009

San Jose, CA, USA – Aug 6th, 2009 – S2C Inc., a leading total solution provider in facilitating systems to chip innovations, today announced a new partnership with Japan Circuit Co., Ltd., a high-speed PCB design company, to co-develop the next generation high-speed SoC prototyping solution based on the latest FPGA devices from Altera and Xilinx. Japan Circuit brings to this partnership over 20 years of high-speed PCB design experience, delivering printed circuit boards (PCB) that can run at more than 10GHz. Future S2C's TAI Logic Module SoC prototyping boards will be simulated by Japan Circuit's engineers for achieving superior performance supporting standards such as the 8-lane Gen2 PCIe standard. In addition, Japan Circuit will be developing a series of daughter boards for TAI Logic Module for high-speed interfaces such as the 10G Ethernet and DDR3 memory modules.

In this new partnership, Japan Circuit will also become S2C's main distributor in Japan for sales and support of S2C's SoC prototyping product line. S2C's prototyping product line includes FPGA-based prototyping hardware, TAI Logic Module, and prototype automation software, TAI Player Pro. The latest TAI Logic Module is based on Xilinx's Virtex-5 FPGA devices and has advanced features such as multiple voltage settings, programmable on-board clock sources, and dual DDR2 SO-DIMM SoCket support. One Virtex-5 TAI Logic Module can hold design up to 6.6 million ASIC gates with 1320 total IO and multiple TAI Logic Modules can be stacked for logic expansion. TAI Player Pro software enables designers to implement SoC designs on FPGA prototypes from RTL and combines four distinct functions under one software package to reduce the challenges of building design prototypes on FPGA: design compile, runtime control of FPGA hardware, design debug using ILA, and link to ESL models through SCE-MI.
